A: The web site migration service available at OntWeb.com is completely free and consists of moving all your web files, databases and e–mails from your present hosting provider to your brand new hosting account with us. We’ll also modify all the settings necessary for your websites to be fully functional on our next–generation cloud hosting platform.Our techs are completely capable of moving just about any site. With years of experience in this field, they’re experts in the specificities of our hosting platform, our Control Panel and all other widely used Control Panels. For them, moving a custom application with plenty of custom libraries is as elementary as moving a simple WordPress blog.

A: While we can’t give you a precise ETA, because there are lots of factors, including the size of the files and databases, the physical location of the present host’s server, the complexity of your web site and the present workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we’ll try our best to migrate your site within 48 hours, and in some cases – within 24 hours (when the content is not very large).

A: Yeah. We will need the name of the web site that you would like us to transfer. We will also require a way to access your old web hosting account so that we can get the files pertaining to your web site.

A: In order for us to start the migration of your hosting account, you must already have an account with us. Opening an account with us requires that you to share literally the same info you have provided to your old host. We also have an extremely rigid Privacy Policy, which describes how personal info is handled.

A: Your site will work exactly like it did before with your previous hosting provider. After we have finished the migration, your website will be configured to work on our web hosting platform and we will alert you to preview it. If it is functioning correctly, all you will need to do is edit the name server resource records corresponding to your domain. Your website will be migrated over to us without any downtime whatsoever.

A: Nah. We will never contact your web hosting provider about anything at all. They will not be aware of the website migration either.

A: Yep. We support all traditional Linux–based hosting platforms. We do not support Windows–powered hosting platforms, because we don’t offer Windows web hosting solutions ourselves.Furthermore, we do not support proprietary site creation and management user interfaces such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
