An access log is a complete list of all the files that were accessed by the guests of a certain Internet site. Every single file which was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have just one page with three embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, for instance, the access log shall contain a total of six entries - one for any of the six files which were accessed when the visitor opened the page. A log normally contains the file name and path, the date, in addition to the visitor’s Operating System, Internet browser and IP address. Occasionally you can also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your site. The data that an access log file contains is in human-readable plain text format. It can be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to write reports on the efficiency of an Internet site, besides the web stats that your server may have generated.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting
You will be able to view detailed access logs for any website that you host in a semi-dedicated server
account created on our groundbreaking hosting platform. Our cutting-edge Hepsia hosting Control Panel will enable you to activate the function for every single domain name
or subdomain within the account separately, which means that you can get logs just for the websites that you need. Once you sign in, you can go to the Access/Error Logs section in which you will discover a list of all the domain addresses and subdomains that you've added or created and an On/Off button on the right side of each one of them. Activating or disabling the generation of access logs is as basic as clicking on that button and the change will take effect right away. You can easily save the logs in .txt format by clicking on the Download link located in the exact same section. The latter will be available all of the time, even after you disable the feature for a specific domain or subdomain.
